I find birthdays to be a funny thing. When you’re young, most kids tend to make a bigger deal of it; with the hoopla of a big celebration. But I guess it is more important when you’re younger since there are more milestones to reach. And I guess the parents like to make a big deal of it? Anyone want to answer that actually? I don’t really know because I never had any birthday parties when I was really young. Or do they just seem like a bigger deal because they’re younger? Once the years start to pile on, it can be a different story…
For the past few years, I’ve found that it’s actually much more fun to make less of a deal of my birthday. No need to plaster my birthday on Facebook or make big plans to celebrate it. Sitting down for some dinner and conversation with good friends is one of my favourite things to do now, and what better way to spend a birthday? I love watching and listening to my friends talk amongst each other. There’s just something about dinner/conversation with friends that I find very satisfying. I’m very grateful that I was able to do that this year and hope that there will be many more of these to come. :)
