Text 22 Sep One step forward, one step back?

Eeek, never thought I’d have to experience this again.

I’m into the third week of my Medical Assistant program at Capilano and I can already feel the squeeze on my savings. Because I’m still in the process of repaying my student loan, a sizable chunk of change is taken from me every month. In light of that, I sat down to crunch some numbers the other day and I came to this realization: I’ll be broke by the time I graduate from my program if I don’t find some source of income soon.

I’ve been trying to find an office job in a medical environment, but employers are being picky and have some pretty lofty requirements. With that industry out of the question, I have to look into something more accessible to myself. Now, I swore that I’d never go there again, but… I’m looking at delving back into the world of retail/customer service work. I just sent out my resume to Shaw, as well as to Apple. The ‘I-don’t-want-to-be-broke’ part of me is hoping something comes up, but my pride doesn’t want any part of it. Although, I guess it’s no time to be worried about pride if I don’t want to be in the red at the end of my program, eh?

If anyone out there knows of a part-time/student job, please, let me know.
