I found a really interesting-looking business card on Sunday. It was very clean and well designed; it reminded me of the one that Ray made for his school stationary project. For some reason, it dawned on me that I could articulate WHY it looked good.
I’m well aware that I studied design in school. I felt happy that I could actually put into words, why the business card looked good. It was supposed to be a small victory. I haven’t designed anything since I graduated, nor can I say I was extremely proud of anything that I did there. I struggled in SIAT and I’m surprised I’ve retained any education from it. I was just making an internal observation.
I know it’s not a lot. But it is to me, even if I’m already “supposed to know what good design is”.
